Exploring the relationship between humanity and the natural world, I aim to create feelings of connection between humanity and nature in my work. Growing up in Southeastern Massachusetts, where the ocean meets farmland and forest, has fostered a passion for nature within myself. Using a variety of artistic mediums, including…,I highlight the beauty of nature while examining the contrasts and connections between human experience and the environment. I often incorporate natural materials such as twigs, leaves and sticks to create sculptures and prints inspired by the world around us. My paintings are heavily inspired by works of the surrealists, in which I use elements of nature as subjects in my work. Animals such as horses, birds, and rabbits serve as recurring motifs in my work, each carrying meanings personal to myself. Family is also a huge inspiration for my process, with many symbols in my work representing people in my life. At its core, my practice is grounded in environmental awareness and a desire to explore the shared narratives between people and the natural world.
